While studying for my Master’s degree at Mills College in Oakland, California, I spoke and participated in a couple literary conferences. Here are the papers I presented:
- “Re:Vision- Reimagining Theories and Strategies of Teaching Writing.”
- “Economies of Desire: Financial, Political and Inter-Personal Exchanges in Literature.”
- Pitch Fest: “Panel on Publishing”
I specialized in Russian literature and completed my Master’s thesis on Fyodor Dostoevsky’s Brothers Karamozov. My thesis was titled: “The salvation of Russia is from the people: Disrupting the Cycle of Underground Characters in Dostoevsky’s The Brothers Karamazov.”
I finished my final semester at Mills co-teaching an English course at Berkeley City College.
During my time at Cal Poly studying English, I was a peer tutor. My senior project was to compile, edit, and fund the college’s literary magazine, Byzantium.
In 2019, I moved back to Reno and taught two English 101 sections at Truckee Meadows Community College. I really connected with all my students and I enjoyed teaching writing.
